In a and in honor of National Aphasia Awareness Month, CBS 2 Chicago interviewed Leora R. Cherney, PhD, director, Center for Aphasia Research & Treatment.
Dr. Cherney provided information about the symptoms of aphasia.
"So just imagine if you were not able to think about the words you wanted to say — you couldn't take the words and put them into sentences,” she said. “Imagine if you were not able to read the headlines of your local newspaper. Imagine if you couldn't text your friends or even your grandchildren."
She also shared how the Center for Aphasia Research & Treatment supports those living with the condition.
